I love the four questions to help students read multi-syllable words. It is very helpful to tell the student how many parts are in the word when we ask them to spell the word. Love the flexing with the schwa. Very helpful!
This was very helpful! Students love when they can read really big words.
Wow, many great insights here. You don’t have to wait until all of the phonics patterns have been learned to teach multi-syllabic words. I like the syllable word strategy. The power of syllables when spelling is yet another important area to dive into.
Brilliant! Can’t wait to teach multi-syllabic words. This was also the first time I saw the schwa taught.
Reading multisyllable words can be so empowering for students! It is neat to see them get excited about breaking down “big words.” Glad you enjoyed the resource!
